“She Persisted” Black Variations

The “She Persisted” enamel pin project began as a rapid response to a moment that resonated deeply with me and so many others. When Senator Elizabeth Warren was silenced while reading Coretta Scott King’s letter during a Senate session, I created the original black and rose gold enamel pin to capture the spirit of resilience and determination. Within two days, I sold 30 pins through my Etsy shop, and by the end of the month, the design had almost completely sold out.

The success of the initial release inspired me to expand the collection. Drawing from Pantone’s 2017 seasonal color palettes, I created a Kickstarter campaign to offer a broader range of options. Thanks to incredible support from my backers, the collection grew to include 22 colorways across spring/summer and fall/winter palettes, two types of stickers, and a Kickstarter-exclusive lavender glitter pin. The campaign raised over $20,000, far exceeding its goal, and became a symbol of creative expression tied to a cultural moment.

Later, I was invited to participate in Kickstarter Gold, an initiative to revisit successful projects with a new twist. I reimagined the “She Persisted” enamel pin, offering it in black enamel with four metal options: Kickstarter Gold, rose gold, silver, and black nickel. I also introduced a stretch goal for an iridescent black glitter pin, continuing the tradition of exclusive add-ons for backers. This campaign carried forward the legacy of the original project while meeting renewed demand for the design.

Throughout these projects, I leaned on my ability to design meaningful products, connect with an engaged audience, and manage complex crowdfunding campaigns. From initial concept to final delivery, I worked to ensure every piece was thoughtfully designed, well-crafted, and delivered with care. These experiences not only honed my skills in product design and project management but also deepened my appreciation for the power of creativity to unite people around a shared message.
